SO. UHM. I B DED, YO.

no not rly. Just supa, supa busy. Life has been hectic and yet entirely enjoyable. School and work have been eating up most of my time. But I'm starting to be able to balance it with personal stuff as well. Of course that doesn't mean I'm any less bogged down.

I like having this much work though. Call me crazy...since I certainly think I am.

In the next few days I'll probably be uploading a few sketch/commission dumps, since I know I won't be able to finish any of the sketches I've finished these past few weeks.

Aside from that...

Zombie Land is amazing. It's absolutely histerical and as far as movies go is positively EXCELLENT. The next movie I'm really really really excited for is Where the Wild Things Are. Whenever I see a preview for it I pretty much go into this world that shuts me up. I can't even explain the effect it has on me. The book was one of my favorites when I was younger. When I first heard the movie was being made I seriously danced a little. Picture that shit.

AND. GOING TO WONDERLAND FOR HALLOWEEN. FUCK YES.

That is all.

BTW: 9 sucked. It sucked hard. I had already been starting to lose faith in Tim Burton so it wasn't like I went into the theatre with high expectations...but it blew harder than I thought it would. Burton's directing career has come to a halt, for me. Which is probably why I'm in no way looking forward to his adaption of Alice in Wonderland. Burton has his style, and he NEVER PARTS FROM IT. Every movie he has done has the same feel, the same look, and the same characters. The guy should be an art director. That. Is It.

For the past while I had been avoiding my laptop like the plague. After using my desktop to work I've come to realize that the colours on my laptop are shit and are no where near what they should be. However, no matter what I do, and no matter how long I tinker with the settings, I can't get the colours to look as good as they do on my desktop. Granted my monitor for my desktop is probably far superior to this little fucker...but still.

I've tried many a calibration program but nothing has proven to work. While I can get my brightness and contrast levels to what they should be (at least according to the many 'guides' out there, as well as my own opinion), the colours just don't look right. I know because I've been comparing pictures. I have the same thing open on my desktop and laptop and they just look ridiculously different. Reds, especially. My laptop HATES red.

This sucks, because I would love to lounge downstairs and do some work while watching TV. However, I can't. I'm really picky and since I KNOW the colours on my laptop aren't up to par I physically can't bring myself to do any art related stuff on this thing.

Also, any of the work I HAVE done on it up till now, looks really dull on my desktop. That being one of the reasons I know it's fucked.

Bleh. It's just annoying. I've spent the past hour and a half trying to fuck around with it. I figure I'll spend the next while doing the same. Maybe I'll get it close...hopefully.

Con Report!

Report is late due to internet PMSing after arriving home. All seems to be well now, however.

Anyway. It's a small one, but it's a report nonetheless. I don't have any pictures to show either, sorry! I did see FFT cosplayers though. They made me happy.

All in all Otakuthon '09 was great! I sold way, WAY more than last year, and met a bunch of super nice people (as well as a few from last year as well). I got to see the town with my peepz and generally had a GREAT time! I'm thinking of selling my extra stuff, ANYONE INTERESTED? I already have three keychains saved for people. xD

There was one thing that annoyed me though. THE ORGANIZATION OF THIS CON. NO. NO. NO. It was awful! Last year was so super speedy when it came to getting my table set up. This year I had to wait in line for an hour just in order to get my badge. I missed out on fourty minutes of setting up! I also still had keychains to put together. I would've done them earlier but there were issues with my hotel room and we couldn't get in. ANYWAY. I expect, that since not only do I buy my badge ahead of time, but since I'm someone who is also paying for an art table, that I should be able to set up the moment set up time is open! I don't want to stand in a crowd of a shit ton of people (which made me super dizzy by the way. I don't do well in crowds. IT SUCKED.) I also don't want to have to watch SIX PEOPLE cut in front of me when I've been waiting for an hour! It was AWFUL! The volunteers for this convention should NOT have been volunteers. They were favoring their friends and let them cut in line. I'm not talking one person every now and then. I'm talking huge groups all the fucking time. Kitty and our friend had to wait three hours. Granted that's a short time for buying registration that day (in comparison to larger cons), but it would of been shorter had people not been butting in line. I expect to see at least some logic in the art of lines...guess not!

Aside from the shitty organization (which is only going to be worse next year, I expect.), it was a grand old time! Yet again there was an amazing artist sitting next to me ( =yanimator )...oh well! Were I more focused on the social aspect of things I would have talked to him...but I was SO tired!

Long story short...I will for sure be going next year! It's a fun trip. And I get to see so many people.

PLUS. JAG. OMG. I MISS U ALREADY U FORGOT UR SHIRT HERE U SILLY GOOSE.

printing?

OHAY. I have a quick question for my watchers. O:

Where do you get your work printed? I've been using Staples, but for some of my stuff I'd like to get posters done, but the smallest posters Staples has to offer are a little to big for me. I'd like to know if anyone knows of any other decent places I'd be able to get stuff printed?

If all else fails I'll just undoubtedly stick with Staples, but I'm curious. I know many online printing services, but I won't be able to get everything shipped in time. If I did I'd stick with Paper Forest. xD

Also. Does anyone know where I'd be able to buy cellphone straps? I'd like to experiment with them. lol
